Hello and Happy New Year to all of our members, corporate partners, and friends receiving this email. I hope you are off to wonderful and prosperous new year. NABA DFW is off and running for 2008. We have several events coming up over the next few weeks. Those include:
- February 7 – Regular Monthly Meeting – 6:00 at the CCC
- February 21 – Mega-Networking Event hosted by SMU with NABA, National Black MBA Association, and JL Turner Legal Association. More details coming.
I would like to extend a very special welcome to Raytheon, NABA DFW’s newest and largest corporate partner. We are excited about the new partnership. We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship. As a beginning to the partnership, I ask you to mark your calendars for the evening of March 13, 2008 where Raytheon will host NABA DFW in a chapter meeting. Raytheon is pulling out all the stops by flying in from Boston, MA their Vice President of Internal Audit to network with the chapter. More details on the event are forthcoming. If you are not currently a member of NABA DFW, I encourage you to join the chapter. In talking with several individuals I feel the need to clarify the membership timing. NABA’s fiscal year end is June 30, 2008. Any membership dues paid prior to June 30, 2007 is considered a member for the previous year. The new year for current membership starts July 1, 2007. If you paid your dues on July 1, 2007 or later, you are considered a current member of NABA DFW. Please check your records and update your membership at www.nabainc.org.
And speaking of membership, NABA DFW has grown to 196 members as of December 31, 2007. I would also like to acknowledge our newest NABA DFW Lifetime Member, Sheila Taylor-Clark. Other NABA DFW Lifetime Members include: Lee Anderson, Odell Brown, Angela Dunlap, Vernon Evans, Emma Walker, and L. Anne Williams. Thank you all for your commitment to NABA!
