SCHOLARSHIP INSTRUCTIONS
The National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. (NABA),
Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter is proud to announce that
it will award scholarships for the 2010-2011 academic
year to current high school seniors, undergraduate students
or students enrolled in a five-year accounting program.
NABA is a national organization established in 1969 whose primary purpose is to develop,
encourage and serve as a resource for African-American and other minorities in the accounting
and finance profession. Our mission is to address the professional needs which enable minorities
to maximize their career potential.
NABADFW is dedicated to helping minority students succeed
in their educational endeavors. The deadline for
the scholarship application is mentioned above. The completed application must
be postmarked by this date for consideration.
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Who can apply for NABAs scholarships?
Applicants must be an ethnic minority. The applicant
may be a high school senior who will enroll as a full-time
undergraduate student in the current academic year.
The applicant can also currently be a full-time undergraduate
student or full-time student enrolled in a five year
program for the next academic year.
All applicants must declare a major in the
field of business, which includes accounting, marketing,
economics, or any field under the school of business.
Applicants must have a minimum grade point average
of 3.0 for the scholarship award.
- How do I apply for the scholarship?
Complete the enclosed scholarship application along with an essay. Submit an official transcript
from the registrar which indicates your current grade point average. Also submit a current
resume (required for college applicants, optional for high school applicants). Submit
a completed copy of your official financial aid transcript, the Student Aid Report,
OR your parents or legal guardians most recent federal tax return. Mail all information to:

All required scholarship information must be postmarked
by the above-mentioned date.
- How are applicants selected to receive the scholarship?
All applications will be reviewed by NABADFWs scholarship panel. Scores
will be based on neatness of applications, composition of essay, grade point
average, financial need, and extracurricular activities. High scores from the
initial process will be invited for an interview with the scholarship panel.
The combined interview and application scores will determine scholarship recipients.
- What will happen during the interview?
The selected scholarship applicant will meet with a small panel and will be asked a series of thought provoking questions regarding goals, objectives, and views.
- How will I be notified if I am selected as a scholarship recipient?
All selected scholarship recipients will be notified
by telephone and/or formal letter from the scholarship
committee by the above date. After notification, NABADFW
will host a special event honoring all scholarship
recipients. The scholarship money will be awarded
at a later date, after proof of full-time enrollment
for the period(s) covered by the award is received
by the award committee.
